This is Ginger posting, although WordPress seems to think it is Pastor Summerlin. I extend my apologies to the pastor for the misleading information!
I have struggled with creating our new website since we asked United Methodist Churches to host our domain name in March of this year. I was just about at my wits end – feeling totally like a failure – when things suddenly turned around for me. I’m still struggling with some issues (like getting WordPress to permit me to change Dr. Summerlin’s email address and getting UMCChurches.org to help with issues related to our security certificate), but I’m hopeful that these little snags will be reconciled soon.
It always amazes me how most people take it for granted that if they know how to do something that everyone should know how. I downloaded a 219 page guide that doesn’t exactly help me when I try to find something out. I do better using a search engine on the Web. Never mind – TMI, I’m sure.
I hope anyone who happens across our website will take a moment to comment and provide information to help us improve it in any way we can. I also hope that as you peruse the content, you will be inspired to stop and visit us in person. Ours is a small congregation, but what we lack in numbers, we make up for with our “can do” attitudes. We welcome any and all visitors with open arms. We practice the motto of the United Methodist Church which says: “Open Hearts. Open Minds. Open Doors.”
Respectfully submitted,
Ginger
